St Oran's Cross was carved between 750AD and 800AD with a representation of Virgin and Child watching over the graveyard where it was originally placed. These pieces of the cross were found underwater in the bay in front of the Monastery and recovered to the museum, where they now lie. It is hoped to stand the cross in its old location again.
