This album is composed of pictures of the beautiful Rainbow Shower Tree. The official tree of Honolulu, it was hybridized right here at the University of Hawaii.

Although it is probably the most abundant tree lining the streets of Honolulu, the trees don't produce any seeds. The only way to get another tree is by cutting or airlayering from an existing tree.

Because the tree was created by hybridizing the pink & white shower tree with the golden shower tree, the flowers colors vary greatly from yellow to pink to almost white.
