The USS Oklahoma was moored at pier Foxtrot-5 the morning of the attack. Today, the battleship Missouri is moored at this location and the Oklahoma Memorial sits just outside the entrance to Foxtrot-5. Its on a spot where many of those who jumped clear of the ship as it capsized came ashore on Ford Island.
Joseph Stalin once said, "The loss of one man is tragic, the loss of many is just a statistic." For me, that what this memorial helps to correct.
