I am a very lucky individual. The collage above shows the devastation caused by the touchdown of a tornado just west of Winnipeg.
I drove the Trans Canada Highway on the way home from Brandon, and passed this location approximately 5 minutes prior to this touchdown.
The weather was horrendous and the sky did look very black in my rearview mirror. I remember increasing my speed to about 150 km per hour when I noticed this sky. Not that this would have helped, it is estimated that this tornado had a windspeed of between 367 to 412 km/hr.
