and i hope it wasn't you who took a bite of it, doing that with unknown mushrooms can be deadly. if it were an amanita muscaria though you might be having some fun (they're hallucinogenic in smaller doses). actually, after a little wiki-ing and googling, it appears to be an amanita pantherina. which is more poisonous than amanita muscaria. anyway, i like the picture. |

My only concern was that the size of the mushroom suggested it was fully grown and as you can see it's not very tall or open. Also the panther seems to more rare than the muscaria at least for the area I took the photo. |

It was bright red with white dots similar to your mushroom. That is one thing I miss about Scotland is all the wonderful mushrooms. Love your picture. |
