Even as the local mass rapid trains zoom pass, it is still a calm and tranquil place out in the true heartland of Singapore. This is taken in a surburb called Khatib, where highrise HDB flats house most of the population. The locals can just slip into this quiet corner around this man-made lake to hill. Round the corner from where I shot this photo, there are families going for their night walks, joggers keeping fit, and lovers whispering into one another's ears.
