Thanks for all the suggestions -- grinding up the pills didn't work as the pills are so foul tasting that Kitkat wouldn't touch anything that had pill in it (or even that I had touched after having pill on my fingers!)

However, the vet ordered in some paste to use as an alternative treatment, so fingers crossed!
