"Surreal Landscape"

For my "surreal landscape" assignment in digital photo. We had to combine 5 images into one "montage". My photo teacher didn't particularly like it because he doesn't like subtlety, he prefers images that are bold and from his comments during critique today, obviously photoshopped (not badly photoshopped, just obviously). I like it the way it is. What do you think? I'm looking for honest, critical feedback here. Be as brutal as necessary Fotonomy peoples. :)

The colors look slightly different than they did when it was a PSD, or maybe it's just my computer's moniter rendering colors differently than the school's computers.

Well it caught my eye straight away, personally I do not think I would have put the image
In the sky, but it shows great imagination, I think it's great work, but who am I??????????

hard to say what it needs really.....Shadow for the figure on the pavement...Something in the foreground blended with the road..... Reclining figure incorperated more into moutains.....We all see a different way we'd do it but that is human nature all in all I'd say it works just fine....

yeah, i kind of agree with that. i mostly just added that so i'd have a 5th image in there because he specified 5 or more images were to be included in the final product.

and thanks. your opinion is only one, but i think every opinion is just as valid as the next. the "experts" have their preconceived notions of what photos should look like as well, even if the majority of photography doesn't fit that. actually i think the "experts" have more opinions and try harder to make images conform to that set of ideas....

there wasn't much of a shadow in the original image that the figure was taken from, but she was at a different angle in relation to the sun. i didn't really spend a lot of time on it. i probably should have incorporated something more into the foreground, but i didn't have a lot of photos to draw on with which to make this. i still have to find a way to create a second surreal landscape image despite my lack of inspiration for this assignment (that was due monday....i put things off).

i might want to play around with it some more if i'm not too frustrated with photoshop by the time i'm done with this class.

Get the assignment finished and then in the future you can play with layering......I know what you mean about having the images available that would *fit* together, I would have problems just putting 2 together couldn't even fathom 5.... Good luck
