Thank you! They are quite striking, especially for such a tiny thing. This is a black-capped chickadee. There are several different types. The mountain chickadee looks nearly the same but has a white stripe above its eye. The boreal chickadee is found in Canada, and the chestnut backed chickadee is found only only along the Pacific Ocean coastline, from California to Alaska. Lastly, there's the Mexican chickadee that, in the USA, is found only in the mountains of Arizona and New Mexico.

Another fun thing about this little guy is that he sings his name. "Chick-a-dee-dee-dee"
